In addition to our usual bug fixing we’ve just decided to launch a new URL structure for sevenload. Starting today we will be using a country ID as the sub domain in order to correctly display the user’s chosen language. The user interface’s English version can be reached at http://en.sevenload.com and the German version is available at http://de.sevenload.com.

As soon as the external application wants to access sevenload’s URL structure, these changes will be relevant with regard to the development of external Plug-ins. Likewise, in addition to the country ID, Permalinks which are shown directly on individual photos and videos will also be expanded. This Blog is the of course terribly important for all of those who might be able to help with potential enhancements for sevenload. There are two formats which are as follows:

Version A
http://{{COUNTRYID}}.sevenload.com/{{TYP}}/{{ITEMID}}/{{TITLE}}

Version B
http://{{COUNTRYID}}.sevenload.com/{{TYP}}/{{ITEMID}}-
{{LISTENID|FOLDERID}}/{{TITLE}}

Version A should be used for the development of external applications. Version B is simply an enhanced version which can produce additional details for display on the sevenload website. The new URLs have the following variables:

  • {{COUNTRYID}} = The specific country ID for the according language which can be selected. The current possible values are “de” and “en”.
  • {{TYP}} = this value will tell you whether a photo or video can be found under the particular link. The possible values are “images” and “videos” in English whereas they are “bilder” and “videos” in German.
  • {{ITEMID}} = This 7 character code is the only reference given in order to select the photo or video.
  • {{LISTENID|FOLDERID}} = In addition to that, under Version B’s URL you will find a description or listing ID for links from searches or usual lists such as the „most viewed videos“. Alternatively, you can also enter an album name via the folder ID. The values which are separated from the item ID via a minus symbol will affect the version of sevenload in that the preceding and subsequent search results or album contents will be displayed as an optional navigation aid.
  • {{TITLE}} = In order to be able to read the URL more easily, the item’s title will also be displayed at the end. *We had mentioned this previously in our Blog about a sevenload re-launch.

What’s important to remember when using these new URLs is that the item’s old URL will also still exist to support downward compatibility. In addition, we want to point out that some Plugins needed for integration on sevenload (ex. in known Blog software and Blog systems) might need to be patched again.
